Biography

Chelsea Capel is a dedicated Physician Assistant (PA-C) specializing in acute care surgery at SIH. She earned her Bachelor of Biological Science degree from Southern Illinois University (SIU) before advancing her education at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, TN, where she obtained her Master’s degree in Medical Science.

Chelsea began her journey with SIH three years ago as a hospitalist PA and has since transitioned to focus on acute care surgery. Her commitment to her patients is reflected in her approach to care, where she emphasizes taking the time to explain disease processes and treatment options. Chelsea fosters an open environment that encourages patients to ask questions and voice their concerns, empowering them to make informed decisions about their healthcare.

Having lived in Southern Illinois for most of her life, Chelsea is passionate about improving access to medical care in the region. She finds fulfillment in providing high-quality healthcare and is dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of her patients.
