Lisa Nation, NP

Biography

Lisa LastNation is an experienced Inpatient Diabetes Nurse Practitioner and Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist at SIH. With a career spanning over 22 years at SIH, Lisa’s journey began as an LPN and evolved through roles as an RN, BSN, and MSN, FNP. Her passion for diabetes care, nurtured through her experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, led her to focus on helping patients manage their condition effectively. 

Growing up in southern Illinois, Lisa has a deep-rooted connection to the region, having lived in Carterville for the past 22 years. Outside of work, she enjoys sports, traveling, beach outings, camping, kayaking, cooking, and home projects, and is a devoted dog lover. 

Lisa's approach to care is characterized by friendliness, compassion, and a nonjudgmental attitude. She aims to empower her patients through education, helping them understand and manage their chronic conditions with confidence. Her favorite part of her role is collaborating with patients to create effective treatment plans and celebrating their successes.

Lisa’s dedication to diabetes care and her strong ties to the community make her a valued member of the SIH team, where she continues to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those living with diabetes.
