SIH Harrisburg Medical Center is a 77-bed, not-for-profit community hospital serving southeastern Illinois. The hospital is home to 265 employees with 141 physicians and advanced practice providers on the medical staff. Established in 1965, SIH Harrisburg Medical Center joined the SIH family in 2021.

SIH Harrisburg Medical Center provides an array of inpatient and outpatient services, ranging from general, orthopedic, ophthalmic and foot and ankle surgeries to urological procedures. The hospital is a key partner in collaborative initiatives within the SIH family, including inpatient Teleneurology with the SIH Brain and Spine Institute in Carbondale, the SIH STAT Heart program for the rapid treatment of heart attack with SIH Prairie Heart Institute and the SIH Telestroke Network.

SIH Harrisburg Medical Center is also home to the Mulberry Center, a 31-bed inpatient acute mental health unit for individuals experiencing acute episodes of psychiatric illness such as major depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. The Mulberry Center provides care in two units: one treating the psychiatric symptoms of seniors with cognitive deficits and the other serving a general adult population. The Mulberry Center is the only non-state operated inpatient mental health facility in the southernmost 16 counties.
